DIVERSITY & IMPROVING OUR CITIES AND COMMUNITIES THROUGH MUSIC

Lafayette, Louisiana, USA - 2018

On October 10-12, the seventh global and third US edition of Music Cities Convention was held in Lafayette, Louisiana and hosted alongside CREATE Lafayette, Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission an Lafayette Consolidated Government.

260 delegates gathered in the “Happiest City in America” to have a conversation on how music can promote diversity and build stronger and healthier communities: to do so, representatives from as far as Chile, Australia, Spain and Palestine, as well as cities spanning the USA, shared their stories and points of view in two full days of panels, presentations and roundtables.

Music Cities Convention is the largest and most extensive global gathering on the topic of Music Cities. The conference brings together leaders from governments, cities and regions, academics, organisations and the music scene to discuss, debate and introduce new thinking.
